SALEM’S LOT forgoes theatrical Release in favor of a streaming Rollout on MAX

Newline’s new film adaptation of Salem’s Lot will forego a theatrical release in favor of a streaming rollout on HBO’s MAX, it was revealed today.

The film, based on Stephen King’s 1975 novel focuses on author Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) who returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.

Also starring are Alfre Woodard as Dr. Cody, Makenzie Leigh as Susan Norton, Bill Camp as Matthew Burke, Spencer Treat Clark as Mike Ryerson, Pilou Asbæk as Straker, and John Benjamin Hickey as Father Callahan.

Salem’s Lot is written, directed, and executive produced by Gary Dauberman, the screenwriter and director behind such horror franchises as The Conjuring, and the IT films.

Dauberman collaborates with James Wan and Michael Clear for Atomic Monster and Roy Lee for Vertigo alongside Mark Wolper.

Salem’s Lot comes to MAX later in 2024.
