9-1-1: Lone Star has been renewed for Season 5.

In a weekend shakeup that saw sister series 9-1-1 canceled and then picked up by ABC, FOX announced that the Rob Lowe-starring firefighter drama would return as part of the Network’s 2023/24 primetime slate.

The series is based on the fire, police, and ambulance departments of the fictional “126” and focuses on Owen Strand (Lowe), a sophisticated New York firefighter who, along with his son, relocates from Manhattan, New York to Austin, Texas.

There he must try to balance the duties of saving those who are at their most vulnerable and solving the problems in his own life. Owen is joined by other firefighters as well as members of the police department and emergency medical services.

9-1-1: Lone Star also stars Gina Torres as EMS captain Tommy Vega, Ronen Rubinstein as T.K. Strand, Natacha Karam as Marjan Marwani, Sierra McClain as Grace Ryder, Jim Parrack as Judd Ryder, Brian Michael Smith as Paul Strickland, Rafael L. Silva as Carlos Reyes, Julian Works as Mateo Chavez, and Brianna Baker as Nancy Gillian.

The news follows recent renewal announcements for existing FOX dramas Accused, Alert: Missing Person’s Unit, and The Cleaning Lady, all of which are returning for new seasons.

Meanwhile, long running medical drama The Resident and musical drama Monarch are both officially canceled.

9-1-1: Lone Star continues its fourth seasonal run Tuesdays, (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
