True Detective finally has a return date.
The HBO drama which was expected to return in 2023, but which was recently quietly pushed to 2024, will now officially return on Sunday, Jan. 14.
Titled True Detective: Night Country, the fourth instalment comprises 6 episodes, and centers on Ennis, Alaska, where eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace during the long winter night.
To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.
The series also stars Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, with Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc, and John Hawkes.
Guest starring are Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, June Thiele, Diane Benson, and Joel D. Montgrand.
Issa López serves as showrunner, writer, and director of all episodes.
