NBC has renewed scifi drama series La Brea for a third season.

The series follows the Harris family, separated after a cataclysmic sinkhole opens in Los Angeles, pulling people and objects into a distant prehistoric past filled with dangers and dinosaurs. As one half of the Harris family wakes up 10,000 BC alongside a mixed group of other survivors, those remaining behind must find a way to reach and rescue their fractured family.

The first season of the NBC hit drama was the number one new show of the Fall in the 18-49 demo, and the number one new drama of the 2021-22 season in the 18-49 demo.

In season two, the Harris family remains separated as Eve is reeling from her son, Josh, having mistakenly gone through a portal to 1988. What she doesn’t know yet is that her estranged husband, Gavin, and their daughter, Izzy, have landed in prehistoric Seattle and now must brave the elements and animals to make their way to L.A.

Season two resumes tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 31 2023, with back-to-back episodes at 9 and 10 p.m., and next day on NBC’s streaming channel Peacock.

La Brea stars Natalie Zea, Eoin Macken, Jon Seda, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chiké Okonkwo, Zyra Gorecki, Jack Martin, Veronica St. Clair, Rohan Mirchandaney, Lily Santiago, Josh McKenzie, Tonantzin Carmelo and Michelle Vergara Moore.

The series is produced by Universal Television and Australia’s Matchbox Pictures, both divisions of Universal Studio Group, in association with Keshet Studios.

Creator/showrunner David Appelbaum executive produces alongside Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan, Chris Hollier, Adam Davidson, Bryan Wynbrandt, Steven Lilien, Ken Woodruff and Arika Lisanne Mittman.
