CBS Borrows From Its Own Catalogue to Fill Fall Slate

CBS’ Fall slate may look familiar to some Paramount+ subscribers.

This season, amid the chaos of the ongoing writers’ strike, the Network is relying heavily on non-scripted fare and reruns of shows that have aired previously on its own channels.

Shows moving over (to be clear, all episodes are repeats) to CBS this Fall include SEAL Team (from Paramount+), Yellowstone (from Paramount Network), and the docu-series FBI True (from Paramount+).

CBS also plans to air the UK version of Ghosts, the series upon which its own version is based.

With the exception of SEAL Team, all shows will kick off with the first seasons of their respective shows on CBS.

SEAL Team, which originally ran on CBS for 4 seasons before moving to Paramount+ for its fifth and sixth seasons will pick up with season 5 on CBS this Fall. The show has already been renewed for season 7.

Meanwhile, Tuesday Nov. 14 (New Night) sees the premiere of NCIS: Sydney, an Australian expansion of the NCIS franchise. Set in Sydney against the backdrop of rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of U.S. NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multinational taskforce to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet.

The new series stars Olivia Swann (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The River Wild) as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey and Todd Lasance (Without Remorse, Spartacus: War of the Damned) as her 2IC AFP counterpart, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey.

NCIS: Sydney premieres 3 days earlier on Nov. 10 2023 on Paramount+ Australia.

Meanwhile, expanded 90 minute episodes of Survivor and The Amazing Race will help pad the schedule on Wednesday nights, as will extending summer series Big Brother and The Challenge: USA into the Fall.

NCIS: SYDNEY will now air on a new day and time, premiering Tuesday, Nov. 14 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) instead of the previously announced airdate (Monday, Nov 13, 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) followed by encores of NCIS (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and FBI TRUE moving an hour later to a new time period (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).
