HBO has debuted a new trailer in advance of The Last of Us Season 2.
The teaser, which appears to follow the events of Naughty Dog’s video game series show Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) some time after the events of Season one, now settled into a fairly normal life in Jackson. Ellie is thriving (hello Dina!) but Joel seems troubled by his past actions, and the huge secret he is keeping from Ellie.
We also get a first look at Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby, who will prove to be Joel’s nemesis moving forward, Catherine O’Hara in a role that seems to suggest she may be a therapist, and the Scars.
HBO teases the following loglines for the season ahead:
After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.
Returning for Season 2 are Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. Previously announced new cast includes Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, and with Catherine O’Hara also guest starring.
The Last of Us is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. T

The Last of Us was HBO’s the most-watched debut season of a series ever.
Season 2 will debut in 2025 on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.
